Parents and Boosters, we need your Rolodex!! We will be soliciting corporate sponsors this year to try and offset travel costs, purchase more equipment, and help bolster the general fund while we concentrate on helping the performers with individual fundraising. The best way to do this is through known contacts at companies, large and small. We are asking each parent or Booster to submit the name and contact information for 2 potential corporate sponsors. We will be reaching out to the contacts informing them of the sponsorship options. We will definitely be using your name in the communication, for that personal touch. If you would like to reach out personally, even better! Send me an email (Susan Bihl vicepresident@mhsredrebelband.com) and I’ll get you the cover letter and sponsorship levels electronically. Thank you in advance for helping with this critical fundraising effort!!

Kudos to the MHS Band for a fantastic two weeks of camp. The staff appreciated the great work ethic and enthusiasm displayed by the band. We're off to a great start, so let's keep it up for a truly memorable year.

Congratulations to Sara Bowden, Beau Branton, and Mirabella Leonard on being selected as MHS Drum Majors for the 2014/15 school year. They were selected from an outstanding group of candidates, and we look forward to their leadership for the coming year.

Congratulations to the MHS Red Rebel Band on earning straight Superior ratings at the ETSBOA State Concert Festival. The band performed 'Symphonic Dance #3, Fiesta' and Johann DeMeijs' 'The Lord of the Rings' for adjudication. (Click here to listen to a .mp3 recording of the performance). Kudos also to the MJHS Band on an outstanding performance playing Grade V music. MJHS was the only non high school group performing at that level of difficulty.

Current Events
AWAY Football at Hardin Valley / WBIR
Please arrive at the band room by 5:30 for the game at Hardin Valley. We will be in FULL UNIFORM for this performance (please refer to Ms. Hime's email for details). Make sure to bring your black marching shoes and bibbers. Jackets, hats, and gloves will be at the High School. Since it is only about a 30 minute drive, students may put their uniform on at the HS, and change out after we return. After the game, we will go to WBIR TV (Channel 10) to serve as the 'Band of the Week' for the 11:15pm sportcast. The band will play for several minutes during the telecast, then will return to MHS by 12:15am or so. Be sure to check us out on TV!

Maryville Marching Invitational
Please make plans to join us for an afternoon and evening of bands at the second annual Maryville Marching Invitational on Sept. 20, 2014. Enjoy unsurpassed hospitality, plus on field clinics from our judging panel for each band.
