Congratulations to Christopher George (Trumpet) on being selected for the All-East 'Blue' Jazz Band, and earning a chance to audition for the Tennessee All-State Jazz Band. In addition, Marley Profitt (Alto Sax), Carter Hatch (Tenor Sax), Julian Gerdeman (Bari Sax), and Wyatt Harper (Bass) earned seats in the 'White' band.
Mr. Ford and I are very proud of the band's performance at the Enka Marching Festival. Overall, had the second highest score of the day, missing first place by only 0.98 points. We were one of only two bands to score higher than 90, so the band should be proud of your efforts and work. The Guard placed 3rd in our class (of 5 bands),  Percussion placed second, our Music score was second, and we were first in Visual. Special congratulations to Mirabella Leonard, Christopher George, and Hannah Morgan on earning the the best 'Drum Major' trophy.
Thanks so much to Mrs. George and all of the Booster volunteers who worked countless hours to make the 2015 MMI a success. Congratulations to Oak Ridge and Alcoa on winning the 'High Music Score' in the large and small classes. On behalf of Mr. Ford and myself, it is a pleasure to work with such a dedicated group of parents and students.
Congratulations to all 33 MHS Band students selected for the 2015 ETSBOA All-East bands. 23 MHS and 10 MJHS students were selected for the honor. Special kudos to the following students who earned a chair in the 2015 Tennessee All-State Band: 11/12 Band: Shannon Frisco (flute), Sara Bowden (trombone), and Alex Douglas (percussion); 9/10 Band: Andrew Ashmore and Avery Sugg (clarinets), and Marley Profitt (bari sax). Jennifer Vorjohan (9/10 flute), Elya Philbrook (9/10 horn), and Sam Davis (9/10 Bass Clarinet) were selected as first alternates for All-State as well.
