Congratulations to Marley Proffitt (Alto Sax) and Carter Hatch
(Tenor Sax) on earning seats in the 2017 ETSBOA 'Red' Jazz Band.
Marley will play 1st Alto (he finished 3rd among all who auditioned) and
Carter will play 2nd Tenor.

MMI a success. Congratulations to Oak Ridge on winning the
'High Music Score' in the large and small classes.

Congratulations to all 34 MHS Band students selected for the 2016 ETSBOA All-East bands. 25 MHS and 9 MJHS students were selected for the honor. Special kudos to the following
nine students who earned a chair in the 2016 Tennessee All-State Band:
11/12 Band: Andrew Ashmore (clarinet), Christopher George (trumpet), and Alex Douglas (percussion);
9/10 Band: Leah Wolfe (flute), Jake Basil (clarinet), Sam Davis (bass clarinet) Marley Profitt (alto sax), Dalton DeLara (bari sax), and Nolan Heinrich (tuba).
In addition, Craig Harville (9/10 bassoon), Carter Hatch (9/10 tenor sax),
Graham Crain (9/10 trombone), and Isaac Douglass (9/10 tuba) were selected as first alternates for
All-State. Special thanks to all students who took the time and
effort to try out and represent our school.
Maryville/Alcoa Christmas Parade
The MHS Band will combine with the Alcoa and William Blount bands to perform in the 2016 Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 10th. We will meet in the
East Tennessee Physicians Group parking lot off Joule Street at 10am. The band room will be open by 9am to get instruments and uniforms. We will
wear our full uniform, and students are encouraged to wear a standard red/white Santa Hat for the performance. The parade will end at the MHS Band Room
around 12 noon.
